Head of Finance & Accounting

About the role

We are a growing home service SEO agency and we need one person who owns our finances properly. Not a firm we email once a quarter, but someone who knows our numbers every month and keeps us compliant without us having to think about it.

This is a part time role with real ownership. You will run the finance function from the day to day bookkeeping through to the monthly report.

What you will do

• Manage our bookkeeping: categorise transactions, reconcile accounts, and keep the books clean and current.
• Run payroll and pay the team accurately and on time.
• Handle our tax obligations, including sales tax filings, payroll remittances and year end preparation.
• Prepare a monthly financial report covering revenue, expenses, profit and cash flow, with a short note on anything we should be paying attention to.

What we are looking for

• Proven experience running bookkeeping and payroll for a small business or agency.
• Confident in QuickBooks Online or Xero.
• Experience with Canadian payroll and sales tax, including GST, PST and CRA remittances.
• Accurate, organised, and comfortable working independently on a part time schedule.
• You can turn a set of numbers into a short report a business owner can actually act on.
